Bhagwan Mahavir Balvihar, Panjim

Many a times if we are taking a return journey back home in the afternoon or evening, we would like to check-out from our hotel accommodation in the morning to save a day’s rent.
If your hotel accommodation is in Panjim and you have already checked-out in the morning, you would wonder where to spend the day. Visiting tourist places be it beach or temple looks tiring as you need to be back in Panjim in time for your return journey.
If you find yourself in the above situation Bhagwan Mahavir Balvihar located in Campal, Panjim is the place for you.
The Bhagwan Mahavir Balvihar is very well maintained Children’s Park. This garden in Panjim is very close to the Panjim Municipal Market and Inox theatre. The Bhagwan Mahavir Balvihar is full of trees, shade, benches and children play equipment. There are good restaurants, food courts within the garden and you can have an afternoon nap on one those benches.
Another advantage for you to be in this garden is while you let your family relax in the garden you can enjoy some shopping at the Panjim Municipal Market.

Goa to Mumbai by Konkan Railway

The Goa to Bombay or Mumbai route by Konkan Railway is very popular with the local and international tourist. Train travel has many advantages over bus travel. In the bus you are confined to your seat, you are cramped-up for room and to make matters worse there are no toilets in the buses. It is very uncomfortable to hold-on till the bus makes its next halt either for dinner or early morning tea break. Whereas in the train you can have a good sleep at night and you have the catering services. The result is train bookings are always full on the Bombay to Goa and Goa to Bombay route.
Mumbai happens to be a transit point for onward journey both for the local as well as the international tourist. Somehow reaching Mumbai happens to be the first task. Getting a seat unplanned on a Goa to Mumbai direct train is very unlikely. In such a situation the best thing to do is to book your journey on trains which take a diversion from the nearest junction or a station from Mumbai and alight at this station. You now have a choice of either taking a local train journey to Mumbai which will be for an hour and a half or take a cab to reach Mumbai. Local train journey to Mumbai will be far cheaper, however it is very uncomfortable due to the rush hour crowd.  A taxi ride to Mumbai may take upto two hours because of traffic jams and also far more expensive than the local train journey. At least now you are in Mumbai to take your onward journey and not held-up in Goa.
Do’s and Dont’s on train travel in India
1)      Always keep your luggage chained to the seat.
2)      Do not trust and be-friend strangers.
3)      Preferably carry drinking water bottles purchased in city rather on railway station.
