Konkan railway has made it
convenient to travel to Goa from other parts of India. Mumbai is the nearest
metro to Goa and hence there are many trains which reach you to Goa from
Mumbai. Most of the trains are in demand and hence an advance booking up to
three months is required. If you do not get a seat you can try booking your
journey ticket to the point of destination. By doing this you have a better
chance of getting a seat at a some additional cost. At least you will have
reached Goa.
